Brett Bain. Hmm. His back issue is ‘back’. Sounds uncomfortable. • Brett is weighing his options about maintaining ownership in AZ. • Brett is also sounding a bit disappointed in Apple (it currently seems to be bringing up the rear in the Samsung, Huawei, Apple line up).
Sean Baylis. He’s happy to say goodbye to 2018. It was not a great year for investors. And though we did not hear him say that 2019 was going to be much better, he sees some interesting buying opportunities. He mentions the TFSA increase. He is looking for ‘wage growth’ as a positive signal sometime this year. He is also putting on an event at the new Library of January 28th! • NOTE: Sean sees the Apple performance story being more politically driven than market driven.
Jim Bladon. A high note for 2019? Jim is arranging for a cannabis expert to come for munchies some morning, soon.
Paul Boucher.
Ian Campbell.
Matt Dart.
Don Davis . As part of Don’s search for a new job, this morning he demonstrated that he can talk for as long as Andy Lockhart. And be just as interesting, • Don is selling his AZ house, along with five sets of golf clubs and all kind of other good stuff.
Todd Dean.
George Doherty. Puppies! George and Karen have a couple of pets running around the house, gleefully peeing wherever.
Don Doolan. Want to watch some good hockey for $15 a seat? Check out the Calgary Inferno schedule.
Tony Fisher . Everything is changing. Everything, I tell you. The recreation and games room purchases are larger than in the past and more numerous. His sense is people are staying closer to home and want some fun home furniture to make it interesting to do so. • Tony is not seeing a positive outcome for the New Horizon ‘funny’ mall in Balzac.
Gord Forsyth. Not sure how this can be … but Gord says Heather is becoming a grandmother in June … but that he is not becoming a grandfather. Could he be spending too much time with Alexa, maybe?
Mel Gibson.
Henry Heuver.
David Hicks. He and his team are spending a fair bit of time driving the Icefields Parkway. They’re proving that a bit of caution and good winter tires will get you there and back. So far.
Dan Kennelly. Looking for a replacement.
Matt Litke. Matt is liking his move to the Chestermere branch of RBC. • He mentions that the BofC did not raise rates this week. He speculated that mortgage costs may diminish – so delaying a house purchase may be a smart idea.
Andy Lockhart.
J.D. MacDonald.
Michael McLennan. True Plug & Play! Seems Amazon has a USB plug-in that effortlessly delivers their videos to your smart TV. If you’re a Prime member, the video service is free (he thinks).
Ross Mikkelsen. Sign up for ATB’s The Owl at https://www.atb.com/learn/economics/Pages/subscribe-to-the-owl.aspx
Mike Mikkelson. He swears by good shoes – especially when at an all-day trade show, standing on concrete floors. Get some at https://ca.shop.ecco.com/en_CA/home
Brad Pachal. Brad is getting some nice exposure via Stepper Homes for a project he managed in one of their models. • His major February and March project just fell through; so he has time on his hands …
Gerry Parcells. To all of us who feel we’ve accomplished something by becoming grandparents, he reminds us that he’s up to his fourth great-grandchild. •
Dwayne Vinck. H e agrees with Mikey; ecco are great shoes.• Dwayne suggests you might want to check out the ‘downtown’ Canadian Tire store just off 17th Avenue and 8th street. Clever, it is.
Bob Wiggins . Dues are due, guys.
