DEC 6 breakfast

(Yes, these minutes are a bit stale.)

In with the new. Out with the old?

Goodbye Donald? Sayonara Justin? Ciao Rachel? We’ll see.

Members:

Brett Bain.

Sean Baylis.

Jim Bladon. Gas and diesel prices were hitting high notes in November …   the App GasBuddy can help you find the nearest, lowest price.

Paul Boucher. A well-used voice is a good generator of revenue. Paul is having a good year as the ‘voice of compliance’.   He’s also being heard during hockey broadcasts.

Ian Campbell.

Matt Dart. Johnson Controls is splitting into two companies which is likely to make Matt’s job more interesting. • Matt enjoyed the book Johnny (about an amazing Canadian bomber pilot from WW2).

Don Davis . He’s very impressed by 3D printing of a jawbone to replace the one lost to cancer by a patient. • Don encourages you to look twice before jumping in as an Executor. • Everyone who believes that #MeToo has gone a tad too far … just blink quietly (so your wife doesn’t hear).

Todd Dean.

George Doherty. Into every life a little beauty must shine: George has a new iPhone for $5 less a month. The question is: is his phone as pretty as was the salesclerk?

Don Doolan. The Lancaster Bomber was a topic at breakfast: Don’s dad flew in one during the war. • Check your basement for Radon. And change your filter and get your fireplace checked.

Tony Fisher . It’s ba-a-ack! AMEX is getting serious about attracting new customers – users and retailers. Expect to see more AMEX stickers in 2019.

Gord Forsyth. Gord has a new woman in his life. Her name is Alexa and she will do anything he asks. (If she’s able.)  You can Google Alexa all day long.

Mel Gibson. All together now, sing: To Palm Springs Mel must go …

Henry Heuver.

David Hicks.

Dan Kennelly. His year as Bird Chairman must be coming to close?

Matt Litke. It’s a new year and maybe a good time to remember to be nice to the people around you.

Andy Lockhart. His brother in law, Dave Birrell, wrote the book “Johnny” about Canada’s most decorated WWII bomber pilot. Dave is associated with the Nanton Air museum where Andy built a full-scale model of the Tall Boy bomb that was dropped from the Lancaster bomber. And wouldn’t you know it: a “Lank” awaits your attendance at the Nanton Air museum – one of only a few left in the world, I believe.

J.D. MacDonald.

Michael McLennan. Mike has some tips about the top ten tech companies.

Ross Mikkelsen. Amazon Prime Membership is over 60% of users and growing. And the warehouse in Balzac can provide same-day delivery.(I don’t think Ross is impressed.)

Mike Mikkelson. Kudos to Mel for help from Thelma.

Brad Pachal.

Gerry Parcells.

Dwayne Vinck. One of his clients has a ‘flow-through’,   pooled risk investment opportunity based on a synthetic diesel.

Bob Wiggins . He’s been collecting dues for 2019.
