January 17th.

Matt Litke’s brother-in-law was seriously injured in that recent, double-decker bus accident in Ottawa. His road to recovery is a long one, so a Go Fund Me campaign to raise $25,000 is underway. For more information: https://www.gofundme.com/f/chester-wilson-ottawa-bus-crash-recovery-fund

You can run but you cannot hide from Bob Wiggins. You have until midnight, January 31 to pay $562.50 for dues. After that …

Sean Baylis. Get smarter. Touch up your cultural IQ. Sip some wine. Join some other Birds. Maybe learn how to make some better money decisions in 2019. Sean invites you, as his guest, to the new library, on January 28th. From 5 to 8 pm — with the presentation by RBC’s guru from 6:30 to 7:30.

Jim Bladon.

Paul Boucher. Talk, talk, talk. That’s all this guy does. And he gets paid for it! He does it so well, he’s busy. And happy to be so. Paul just finished a 25-minute script about co-gen for Pembina. He sounds … like a pro, he does.

Ian Campbell. Ian has kudos for JD and his crew. Ian’s hot water heater sprang a leak but it was no match for SonRise Plumbing. They responded and replaced it in hours.

Matt Dart.

Don Davis .

Todd Dean.

George Doherty.

Don Doolan. Still singing: “You Better watch out”. These days, you know not who might be watching you. So Don has begun wearing clothes about the house, again. It seems his new Shaw modem and wifi printer are being shared by his neighbour! What else might be going on?

Tony Fisher . One of his trucks overturned on the Highway by Sparwood. Thankfully, the driver is okay. The truck was loaded but because of his insurance agent – Mel, of course – coverage is taking care of things nicely.

Gord Forsyth. It’s frustrating is what it is. Gord can’t figure out why so many people are excited about getting tickets to Obama’s appearance in YYC. Don’t they remember that it was ‘Obee’ who killed the pipeline that mortally injured our economy?

Mel Gibson. Mel is loving his new ‘ears’ from Ian. It’s amazing what they do for him. • He recently visited the Calgary Tower where he and guests were besieged by gnats and fruit flies. Not fun at all. (Oh, and these bugs were not caused by his new hearing aids. At least as far as we know.)

Henry Heuver.

David Hicks.

Dan Kennelly.

Matt Litke. A little bankerly advice: keep all your tax and income and other documents in a file … so it’s easy to help your banker help you.

Andy Lockhart.

J.D. MacDonald. His son, Alex, hit a deer on the highway. It totaled the truck – but other than a hurt thumb, Alex is ok.

Michael McLennan.

Ross Mikkelsen. If you know anyone who is looking: Barbecues Galore is hiring: a junior marketing person and an order desk clerk. • Unsurprisingly, Ross is starting the year off with a bit of an anti-stupidity rant. How can we allow Saudi Arabian oil to displace AB oil … especially in light of how they (the Saudis) disrespect human rights and Canadian laws? It just doesn’t make sense.

Mike Mikkelson.

Brad Pachal. Ouch. Brad has a bandage on his wrist. But he was not trying to cut it. He was using a new machine to sharpen a chisel … and all it took was for his attention to slip for a second … and that chisel nicked him real good. Lots of blood, a rush to the hospital and seven stitches later …

Gerry Parcells.

Dwayne Vinck.

Bob Wiggins . So guys: do you all have an ‘enduring power of attorney’ set up? And what about a ‘Directive’ for what you’d like if in serious condition in the hospital?  • Bob’s brother in law had a stroke which … knocked him to the floor … where he laid for 5 days waiting for rescue. So you might want to consider getting people you know who live alone … one of those emergency signaling devices.
