That was June 21!

Members:

Brett Bain. Want to save up to 90 percent. (It’s a Scottish thing, okay.)  Shop around for pet vet services and ask for estimates up front. There are vets – outside of the city – who do great work for modest costs. Well worth the drive.

Sean Baylis.   Sean has been a supporter of the Stay in School Program for quite some time. And some six years ago,  he began mentoring one of the kids – who just got accepted into the Pathways to Medicine program, on his way to becoming a doctor. It kind of makes all that time contribution (and all the other good cause activities Sean participates in) mean something.

Jim Bladon.

Paul Boucher.  From the wildness to the wildest cultural smorg of all.  Last night, it was the Jurassic Premiere. Today, Paul is on to NYC, NY. May it be a great trip and may those business connections bear fruitful voice acting gigs.

Ian Campbell. If you’d like to learn how to install your own business phones, just go for telus’ Business Connect Service. (Well, maybe don’t take the word ‘service” to heart.) Sad, really.

Matt Dart.   Of course, our own electronics guru would be involved in getting the Amazon warehouse up and running. Fine project it is, too.

Don Davis.  All good things take some time. Wine. Cheese. And Englishmen. 45 years ago, Don hired three salespeople in London, UK (for sales positions in Canada). The other day he got a call from one. He wanted Don to know that he (Don) was the best thing that ever happened to him (the Englishman). He (the Englishman) lives in Florida, has five businesses around North America and even more plants (manufacturing ones; not green ones). It was 45 years ago, to the day, that Don hired him. He just wanted to thank Don for making his (the Englishman’s) life so rewarding. Come to think of it, Don is a great model to copy. Or should that be, a great copy to model?

Todd Dean. (Out biking.)

George Doherty.  Don’t kick sand in this guy’s face! Or you’ll be sorry.   George is rel easing his inner man and hidden body. He is working out at World’s Gym. And listening to his Physio and Chiro. For a while, it looked as though Geo might need surgery on his upper body – thus, ruining his summer of golf. Which is turning out to be a real-PING summer of golf. George is loving how those clubs make him better than ever. (or is that, almost as good as he used to be?)

Don Doolan. Just passing through. He’s Montana bound, again. Seems his boat wants out of its pen and into … the water.

Gord Forsyth . Hot and sweaty, Gord is. Seems his new Honda truck (good looking one at that) is sans A/C. Calgary Honda dealership says it’s a factory issue – which is not their problem. Me thinks Gord is going to have to ‘learn’ them how to provide … what’s that word? Oh yeah, service.

Mel Gibson.

Henry Heuver. Henry and I were cut short this am (some birds chirped too long). But I managed to say what needed saying: Henry’s folks did a wonderful job of my backyard and patio in time for my wife’s retirement bash this weekend. Thank you, Henry and Julius and about 5 other nice fellows. Including George Heuver.

David Hicks.

Dan Kennelly. Smiling Dan ran a good meeting.

Matt Litke. Is he planning a ‘beer breakfast’ for us, in Strathmore, maybe? He sure is impressed with the suds from Origins Brewery. Worth a drive out there, I think.

Andy Lockhart.  Not surprisingly, Andy is not afraid of bears on the golf course. He has a souped-up golf cart and can outpace anyone.  • he’s looking forward to the SAWS AGM.

J.D. MacDonald. I missed his story this am. Sorry.

Michael McLennan.  Keep your eyes on Fuji film and their little spat with Xerox. Could be quite messy. Billions of dollars messy. And fun to watch.

Ross Mikkelsen. Has some disdain for WCB. Seems one of his employees put in a claim and Ross’ premiums went skyward. Then some CC-TV footage revealed that the claim was false. When informed of this fraud, WCB guy seemed disinterested. • Ross also has disdain for online credit card purchases from Quebec. Seems they are all fraudulent.

Mike Mikkelson . So many Birds are grampas now … so watch your grandkids like a hawk when they’re near water. Be like an eagle. (He’s much saddened by the toddler who drowned in Lake Bonaventure.)

Brad Pachal. There’s nothing like a good laugh or two to begin your day. Reason enough to come to Birds.

Gerry Parcells.

Dwayne Vinck. Pleased at the support The Kids’ help Line receives from RBC.

Bob Wiggins . So he and Dorothy visited the South Campus Health Centre, the other night. It’s our city’s newest and biggest and best-equipped hospital. They got there just before midnight. Dorothy had a fall and they wanted it checked out. So to Emergency they went. And waited. And waited. And waited. It may be a fine facility but the hospital had one (count him, one) doctor on duty. Bob is not impressed.
