Political Paucity?Oct 24

When Chairman Dan wondered if we’d sooner discuss the election results rather than offer tips, so raw was our disappointment in the outcome, we Birds went silent. (For a few minutes.)

Members:

Brett Bain. Brett had two words to say about the election: “smiling asshole”. (Somehow, we all knew of whom he was referring to.)

Sean Baylis. His take: the NDP is in the driver’s seat. If Trudeau wants them to support his pipeline, it could cost us a Capital Gains Tax, National Pharmacare and a Wealth Tax. He felt the Bloc success was a shock. – You might want to consider buying MicroSoft on the next pullback.

Jim Bladon. He attended the Economic Update put on by Mary Moran and Crew. Theme of Message was ‘more uncertainty’. How unpredictable, eh.. – The Mustangs are moving to Blackfalds.

Paul Boucher. He’s going big on Small Business Week. Keep an eye on Attabotics ( https://www.attabotics.com ): they’re in the modern fulfillment business and have turned warehousing and delivery into a science. Benevity ( benevity.com) bears watching. ShawPass, too. There’s a very smart fellow from RIM at MRU who might just be induced to come for breakfast with us.

Ian Campbell: He’s enumerating his ‘guys trip’ to Nashville: NFL game, Blues bars off Bourbon Street, other Blues Bars, great bunch of guy s…

Matt Dart

Don Davis.

Todd Dean:

George Doherty.

Don Doolan . His tip: get a flu shot. And for an interesting and different read about a hippy cult leader, there’s a book out about Charles Manson.

Tony Fisher. He is not enjoying all the attention he’s getting from WCB. It sounds as though they might be indulging in cannabis. We will hear more of this tussle in weeks to come.

Gord Forsyth . I quote Gord: “I got nothing”.

Mel Gibson.

Henry Heuver.

David Hicks . Is losing a bit of weight. Improving his B/P. Doing so by Abstaining in October and following the DASH diet.

Dan Kennelly. Coastal Gas line to Kitimat and LNG plant is sounding promising. – Liking the theatre/hall at MRU. A hidden gem with some under-advertised events.

Matt Litke.

Andy Lockhart. Shared the catalogue of creative (wood) projects that were on display at South Centre SAWS exhibit last weekend. Pretty amazing what woodworkers can make out of a dried and cured chunk of tree.

J.D. MacDonald. G’s Roofing redid JD’s roof and did an excellent job.

Michael McLennan.

Ross Mikkelsen. Vegas sales meeting sounds like it was fun. He got to play with a digital golf game that plays like the real thing. – He had the interior of his home painted. Contractor was skilled and reasonable.

Mike Mikkelson.

Brad Pachal. If you’re enjoying Shaw service but dislike the price, give them a call. Brad did and pushed them a bit and saved a worthwhile amount of money.

Gerry Parcells. Sheer missed the boat, he said, sadly shaking his head. As someone said, Sheer had a breakaway and missed an open net.

Dwayne Vinck. The prospectus for his mining company was recently approved by SEC.

Bob Wiggins. Had nothing to add. Glum, he is, about the election.
