Hmm. Gord’s health issues have returned. Disconcerting.

Brett Bain.  Hmph. Now that the computer guys have got us all on computers, they tell us that our data can be (and is being) data-napped and held for ransom. You can pay the ’napper’s’ demands (if you trust them). But how can you trust a kidnapping kind of person? You can pay the bad guys or … buy a new computer and hope (pray) that your backup and restore plan works.

Sean Baylis. Beware of Greeks having national ‘plebiscites’. Just because they invented the word, doesn’t mean they have to use it to screw with the world’s economy. Expect a volatile summer in the markets.

Todd Dean . The one thing that Google doesn’t offer business intelligence gatherers in Canada is inbound telephone traffic analysis. But as they say: there’s an App for that … and Todd and company can provide it.

Henry Heuver.  He sees evidence of a downturn. He’s getting calls from crews who’ve been let go by his competitors. Sounds like Foothills is continuing to do good work as they’re holding their own. But H is a bit anxious about the minimum wage issue.

Dan Kennelly. He admitted it, at breakfast. “I’m a voyeur,” he said. “A bull-riding voyeur.” Smart, I’d say.

Randy Kott. Glad to see that Notley’s Crew are not jacking up real estate fees (as Prentice was wont to do).

Keith Kozak. Residential market inventories are levelling off and prices are solidifying. Action is in the under $500m range. • And if you really want to keep up with the market, go to Gord’s Running Store on Centre Street (just up from the bridge.) Last year’s inventory of top-line shoes is always about half price (or less).

Matt Litke.  Sees a dearth of proactive policies around the subject of Occupation Health and Safety – in office environments. Just saying.

Andy Lockhart.  Andy’s spell, as Chair of the DI Centre, is over but many of the accomplishments achieved under his watch will live on. Congrats Andy.

J.D. MacDonald.

Ross Mikkelsen.  A friend of his had his data-napped. (As per Brett’s comments above.) Had to set up a Bitcoin account (a pain in the butt process) to make payment. But he did and he got his data back. • You shoulda seen the look on Ross’ face – and hear the glib in his voice – as he told us of how he can’t wait to share his (slight) reduction in credit card fees with his plucky customers.

Gerry Parcells.  It’s knee time. And of course, now that he kneads a knee job, wait times are long.

Bruce Roblin .

Dwayne Vinck. Uh oh. For a CA, Dwayne sounds … impetuous. Spontaneous. The opposite of Conservative. He suggests you ‘do it now’, whatever it is that you know you should do. He recently attended a family ‘celebration of life’. Like so many of these events, you never get enough notice. So live for the moment. Let the CRA guys depart with everything prissily declared and forever regretted,

Bob Wiggins.  Cataracts are like bankers: they’re always stirring the waters and slowly making things murkier and murkier. No wonder Gimble always has patients. Oh, and Bob is once again singing, “I can see clearly now.”
