When the sun shines and women’s outfits get briefer, the Birds’ attention drifts to … food?! Well, some good restaurants were suggested this morning.

Ethics took a beating at Brett’s company last week when a senior tech left Brett’s firm to join the prospective customer’s. This, of course, occurred after Brett had invested the time and talent to solve the customer’s needs. Ah well, if the turncoat follows turncoat procedure, he’ll be elsewhere in 3 months and Brett will get the customer back. And the revenues.

George Doherty. The Birds’ golf tournament is officially on August 27th. George has booked 4 teams of 4 Birds. Please let him know if you plan to play. • There is a great place on Sylvan Lake for sale. If you are interested, let George know. • If you feel wonky after taking your meds, maybe your meds are not right for you. Talk to your doc.
Don Doolan. Windows – especially those on bedrooms or apartments or basement suites – are easy to get wrong. There are city specs on the Internet. Check and check again.

Gord Forsyth. Grumpy, he is. The longer Gord is retired, the longer Heather’s Honey-do list is getting.
Mel Gibson. Be sneaky. Be downright tricky. Begone with nobody knowing. With everyone going away for days or longer, he reminds us to make our houses look occupied. Don’t tell FB when you’re gone. (Tell them when you’re back.)
Henry Heuver. Henry and Joan did what many talk of doing: they took an European river cruise. It was a lovely way to travel. You sail (well, motor) into and through the history and architecture of the past. And as a ‘arborist exemplair’, Henry couldn’t help but notice the different ways vineyards are planted. In much of Europe, the bushes run in a line, up and down the hill. In Austria, however, the grapes are all in row, horizontally. Why? That is a good question.

Seems his red tape elimination promises are falling short (well, maybe that should be ‘long’): Mike’s community league efforts to upgrade their entrance signs (at their own cost) have been before 19 city departments and are 20 months in the process with no end in sight.
