Google Todd has created a blind website for Birds at https://yycearlybirds.club
Andy introduced Dwayne Vinck this am. He’s interested in flying with the Birds. (See more about Dwayne below.)
Matt’s Attendance Records Draws a Crowd! There were 22 of us this morning.
Second GOOGLE Reminder: gentlemen, mark June 4th as Google Day at Birds on your calendar. And do attend. It will be an interesting event.
Members:
Brett Bain. Brett wandered out to X-Iron Mills and was impressed with Tony’s SML store. • He is looking to Google Todd for some assistance.
Sean Baylis.
Jim Bladon. Wonders out loud: is it ‘lock-in’ time? Fixed rates are up 35%. Could be a sign. Is he just saying or is he ‘just saying’?
Paul Boucher. It’s like ten into one. Digital into analogue will not go. The irony is: his out of date landline scrambles digital audio signal. Ah well, his son is using a Chrome Book (Google’s laptop and Cloud combo). We’ll hear more of this in the future.
Greg Callander .
Ian Campbell. You heard it here, first! This morning he said he is ‘specializing in aides’. Hearing aides, of course. There are some with controls on your iPhone. So much better than tiny knobs and buttons. Others are now are tied to GPS so you can track your parents or find your lost hearing aides.
Don Davis. Under every cloud there is an optimist: Don points to his chronic absenteeism at Birds as he wonders aloud about our refund policy. Unsurprisingly, Bob Wiggins sounds a bit flinty as he answers.
Todd Dean . This man practices what he preaches. This morning he showed us a website that will work for Birds as a delivery mechanism for our minutes and also, as our roster (he can save us $800.00) It will be blind to Google (and other search engines). You must check out ‘our coat of arms’. It’s very apropos.
George Doherty. He’s working on our golf tourney. Tee off is around the end of August
Don Doolan.
Ken Eades .
Tony Fisher. Sounds like he’s saving a nice bit on his electric bills via Sponsor Energy. If you want to save too, check out http://www.sponsorenergy.com
Gord Forsyth. He retires from the bank and now talks common cents? Yup. Get over it, he says. We have the NDP for at least four years so accept it and move on.
Mel Gibson. He’ll insure driverless cars someday. Meanwhile, pay your bill he says, Pay your bill.
Henry Heuver. He, too, suggests we make the best of this NDP period. Meanwhile, expect a few more insect pests in your backyard, compliments of our mild winter.
David Hicks. An early adopter he is. Dave is somewhat taken with Elan Musk’s battery powerwall. He’ll keep us posted .
Bill Hoogstratten.
Roger Jarvis. Original Early Bird
Dan Kennelly. Renaming Kananaskis golf course? Calling it Recovery Ridge? He is amazed at how fast it’s being restored.
Randy Kott.
Keith Kozak. His sense is that the downturn is levelling off. Sees the NDP playing with mortgage insurance. • Has an idea for you if you’re thinking of buying a second home.• Is still chuckling after watching a Bowser and Blue show.
Matt Litke. Runs a heck of a meeting.
Andy Lockhart. He’s still looking for the MLA for Calgary Klein riding.
J.D. MacDonald. Busy. Maybe more busy than he likes.
Michael McLennan.
Ross Mikkelsen. Warns us that if you are looking for a deal on a BBQ, his negotiating skills have been sharpened by a recent brush with Hoogie. • He also assures us that the charcoal he sells has federally approved labelling. They were back to check again this year (for the 27th in a row?). Ross can assure us that the warning to not burn indoors is compliant in size, legibility and in bonne French.
Tom Olson.
Gerry Parcells.
Bruce Roblin .
Dwayne Vinck. He’s a CA but practices his profession differently than Chris. Seems to like power pools and batteries. Is a big supporter of the Kids’ Help Phone. Has coached hockey and fastball. Is about to celebrate his 25th Wedding Anniversary and has four kids. He’ll be a good addition to the flock.
Bob Wiggins. I’ve heard of picking through the entrails of animals for auspicious signs. But picking through bear scat? Bobby, Bobby, Bobby!
Chris Wright .
George Roberts. Words work when written well .
