March 10th was interesting

Ross arrived armed with a super fast loop lighter. Could it be the prototype for the sidearm-weapons in the next Star Wars movie? Tune in next week. Or better yet, attend: we have CalgaryNEXT coming for breakfast on the 17th. Should be very interesting.

Members:

Brett Bain.

Sean Baylis. A couple of ‘teaching moments’? #1: If you were brave enough to buy during the January lows, you’re now enjoying the recovery. (well, partially). #2: On average, owners replace their autos every 7 years. (I bet you didn’t know that before.) NEXT WEEK: on Wednesday morning, Sean is hosting a breakfast at the Pete Club featuring a panel discussion about ETF’s. Details to follow from Sean.

Jim Bladon. Is Dave Moffat becoming a star in the business community? He has always glowed but now, when he talks about the Royalty Review, he does so to a packed house.

Paul Boucher.  Paul is singing Georgia on my Tongue (to the tune of … you know which song). He learned a few new techniques of his trade at the ‘Voice Conference’ in Atlanta.

Greg Callander.

Ian Campbell. Ian loses weight, increases his cardio, tans and catches fish all at the same time. In Maui, Ian fishes from a pedal driven kayak. Yes, he knows he can catch fish longer than his boat. Doesn’t scare him. Heck, not only is he brave enough to use old fashioned direct mail, he’s counting the $$$ it’s making for him.

Matt Dart. Took away some good advice from Jim Grey and Bob Cox (of Trican) who were among a number of wise speakers at The Soul of the City/In It Together event last week.

Don Davis.

Todd Dean.

George Doherty.

Don Doolan. Just how much fishing, drinking and eating on Maui can a man endure? Don’t ask Don – he’s till working on the answer.

Ken Eades.

Tony Fisher.

Gord Forsyth . On behalf of the Alberta Prosperity Fund, Gord would appreciate any input we have with respect to what Heather and Dave had to say last week. It is a difficult road to hoe but they’re going to do it and need your feedback.

Mel Gibson.

Henry Heuver. Politics is not Henry’s favourite plot of land. And right now, business is not all that much fun either.

David Hicks.  Home again, home again, lickety split.

Bill Hoogstratten.

Dan Kennelly.

Keith Kozak. Market is slow but then, so is everything else.

Matt Litke. Practiced his chairmanship, at breakfast.

Andy Lockhart. DI hotel project seems to be attracting manipulative city hall faction. Ah well, he knew it wouldn’t be easy. • He also has some advice for Heather and Dave: don’t try to unite the C’s with WR’s. That route has proven to be unproductive too many times to count, says Andy.

J.D. MacDonald.

Michael McLennan.

Ross Mikkelsen. It is a wonder that he doesn’t use his new fangled lightlazer to carve new orifices in the butts of Canada’s Border Crooks. I mean Customs Officers.

Mike Mikkelson. Were we surprised when he castigated the NDP for their choice of a negotiator? Nope.

Bruce Roblin.

Dwayne Vink. Does he see a silver lining in mining in Canada? Hmm. Kinda, yes.

Bob Wiggins. Thoughtful … he was on Thursday.

Chris Wright.  Rumbled something about April 30th being closer than it sounds. And is suggesting you look at taking your RRSP deduction next year. Why? Ask Chris.

George Roberts.  Words work when written well.
