June 6

Scotch anyone? Gord donated a bottle of McCallan Ruby to Business Fore Calgary Kids. It raised $450.00 in their silent auction.Which, along with the golf tournament, raises $250,000 every year. (It’s been reported that a retired, banker-looking fellow left the clubhouse with tears in his eyes. )

Members:

Brett Bain. To Phoenix he is going … to experience more of that US patriotism (aka Trump-ism).

Sean Baylis. Seems markets are floating upwards and Trump’s Tweets may be to blame. Let’s see what he does in regards to China. •

Jim Bladon. Picking up on Mel’s Stampede ticket selling system comments, Jim mentioned that there are 1600 volunteers being taught how to use the Tablet online systems and that $160,000 will be saved on ticket printing. • Jim sees some optimism in the marketplace but adds that the energy sector is struggling to recruit enough people.

Paul Boucher. (From last week): If you use Office 365, there ’s a mileage app included. MileIQ. The mileage tracking app, mentioned by Paul, is called MileIQ – and you can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCnQGj6a924. That’s a really good 2 minute walk through how to set up etc. There’s also a very well done 1 minute review from a small business owner in this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lMlV84knYrQ. The actual web site where Microsoft gets its hooks into is here: https://www.mileiq.com/.

ALSO: Here’s an update on the best password managers. Paul’s favourite is their #1 pick … but the other options are also good.

Ian Campbell.

Matt Dart.

Don Davis . He’s pleased to report that his twin grandchildren are doing well.

George Doherty. George is not happy about Calgary reconsidering adding fluoride to its water. The additive used causes mottled teeth in kids, contributes to brittle bones and is a snow job funded by Crest and Colgate and other dental lobby groups.

Don Doolan

Tony Fisher. Westman Centre, down in Mahogany, is shaping up to be a pretty nice place to live. From fee simple to condos and assisted living units. Country club living.

Gord Forsyth. No Scotch on this man’s breath. • And he’s reluctant to go downtown what with $48 parking costs.

Mel Gibson. Feels the Windermere golf club is slower this year than others. Making it a little easier to get a T-time.• Have iPad; can sell tickets! He’s impressed with the Stampede’s new and almost almost paperless ticket selling system.

Henry Heuver. Henry honours D-Day and Canadian contributions to the WWII campaign in the Netherlands. reminds us not to take these memorial events lightly.

David Hicks.

Dan Kennelly. He has been enjoying the green ‘greens’ and the 75th anniversary of D-Day TV shows. With the US now producing 3 million barrels of oil a day, Canada is struggling to sell its production at anything near its value.

Matt Litke. He’s seeing more and more banking fraud and account takeovers. Plus, theft of ID. Online banking can offer you large transaction alerts which can give you a heads up to help protect you and yours.

Andy Lockhart. Bomb project in Nanton is getting close to being finished: just needs a special ‘metal spun’ piece for the tail. Challenge is finding a metal spinner.

J.D. MacDonald.

Michael McLennan. Is at the Global Petroleum Show, tomorrow  till Thursday. Look for MarkForged and TRS. • If the $1500 charge for a new crown in Calgary dental offices is painful, you can cut that pain in half at dental offices in red Deer.

Ross Mikkelsen. Not sure if we should praise or damn Kenny’s Minister of Reducing Red Tape, but Ross is chary of Ontario’s Ministry of Labour. Seems yelling on the job can incur a visit from a Snivelling Servant

Mike Mikkelson. Hunting deer by truck is an inconvenience: you have to do without your vehicle while it’s being repaired. Contemporary Coachworks did a fine job of removing all signs of the deer.

Brad Pachal. Gone fishing. Casting for lunkers in Saskatchewan.

Gerry Parcells. Still meeting up with old printers at Phils for coffee in the morning.

Dwayne Vinck. A little magnesium. A little cannabis. A little push to get the AB gov to lobby other provinces to support Kids’ Help Phone.

Bob Wiggins.
