This morning was Remember Randy Kott Day.
While Tony and I chatted in the parking lot this morning, we were tucking our faces in behind our collars to keep out the cold. If it’s not winter yet, it will soon be.
Henry is still at the Foothills. He’s on the fifth floor of the Special Services Tower.
JD is still recovering from shoulder surgery.
Jonathan Guindi, friend of Sean, came for breakfast and to check out the flock. Jonathan is with Jim Peplinski Leasing.

Sean Baylis. It is ‘earnings time’. Twitter is up 20% which makes it, well, real. Aecon wants to be bought by a Chinese company. Offer is 1.5B but needs G of C approval. Roots’ IPO was lukewarmish and share values slipped immediately. David’s Tea has gotten cold. • But Sean is still smiling.
Jim Bladon. It’s tomorrow today at ATB. Jim is pleased that ATB is the first bank to offer banking by way of Facebook Messenger. A chatbot can help you do most of your daily banking. Go to https://www.facebook.com/ATBFinancial/
Paul Boucher. Paul is keeping up with VR (virtual reality) but can we keep up with Paul? That is the question. He met with the Mammoth VR people. He likened their product/service to be ‘like a simulator’. They’re currently showing how VR can capture people’s memories and them, in effect, temporarily restore memory for dementia patients.
Ian Campbell. If you thought tapas were just a Spanish thing, we’d forgive you — but you may not forgive yourself. Exquisitly delicious Asian tapas are available at Anju, on 17th Avenue. Check it out at http://anju.ca/

Todd Dean.
George Doherty. If you’re going to dinner at the Wiener Schnitzel Haus in Bowness, try to go as the guest of someone. Hosting dinner there can be painful, even for the Birds’ cream mogul. • Also, don’t try to impress your wife w a new iPhone if she seems happy with her flip phone.
Don Doolan. Me thinks he’s spending too much time in Montana. This morning, all he talked about was ruffs. And how they get bad shingles.
Tony Fisher. Not a lot of love for telus, from Tony. In fact, I don’t think there was any at all for telus. They seem to think that 45 days of bad service is okay. Tony disagrees.
Gord Forsyth . This morning, for the first time ever, Gord had porridge at Birds. Oatmeal may, he says, be bird food. But it will never grace his plate again. Ever.
Mel Gibson. Used to be people said things like: saved by the bell. Soon they’ll be exclaiming: saved by the drone. They can deliver a defib to just about anywhere within minutes. And save lives. • Poor Mel has to go to Palm Springs for the next four weeks.
Henry Heuver.
David Hicks.
Dan Kennelly. Will coordinate with Brett about a breakfast at which we learn about computer (iPhone, iPad) security. VPNs, too, maybe?
Matt Litke. Here to hear.
Andy Lockhart. He said he used to be a Sean.
J.D. MacDonald.
Michael McLennan.
Ross Mikkelsen.
Mike Mikkelson . If you notice Mike hopping around and maybe even, beating a drum, know that his firm now represents Energizer Batteries. Their market share is in the 60s; their competition is Duracell, once owned by P&G but now, by Warren Buffet. (From what I can see, he’s gutting the company but then, who am I?)
Brad Pachal. Brad has been renovating some bathrooms. • He just redid a little granite island that had a slab that only required 6 men to carry it into the kitchen.
Gerry Parcells. Uh, now it all comes clear. Gerry has family in Ontario, near the home of the Maple Leafs. (They’re a hockey team that, supposedly, is good enough for the NHL.) • He also has a daughter on local radio. She’s in for a talking to from dad: seems she referred to her parents — on air — as ‘her elderly parents’. It’s true: Kids say the darnedest things! (Yes, for those of you old enough to notice, I am quoting the Canadian boy from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Art Linkletter.)
Dwayne Vink. His mining company is still addressing regulatory issues to keep SEC happy. Speaking of which, happily, the questions are becoming more pro forma in nature.
Bob Wiggins .
