Come to Birds and learn: How to drink, by Don Davis • How to eat smoke by Sean Baylis • How to open a bank account in 5 minutes or less, by Jim Bladon •

Members:

Brett Bain.

Sean Baylis. Smoke-eating? Sean and cycling friends are practicing their smoking skills as they ride to raise funds to end cancer. Problem is, riding actually can be hazardous to your health. Medics canceled the ride to everyone’s dismay. But 8 million plus was still raised.

Jim Bladon. Fastest bank in town? Used to be it took an hour and a day to open a new bank account. At ATB, you should be able to do it in 5 minutes or less. • Jim bid goodbye to his dad, at a celebration of life golf game in Athabasca.• Jim’s son, Michael, is playing for the Humbolt hockey team.

Paul Boucher. Disappointed that ride to conquer cancer was canceled but is staying in shape for next year’s ride.

Ian Campbell.

Matt Dart. He’s watching fire alarm sales take off. • His wife chatted with Insurance company that wanted to charge them a fee for canceling their insurance policy (to switch to another firm). The company got so exasperated trying to justify their actions, they finally relented and canceled the charges.

Don Davis. Offered some tips about drinking, Don did. About making sure you drink enough water. Wife Pat collapsed the other day (after playing   18 holes of golf). Probably due to dehydration and lack of oxygen (because of smoke in the air). Since you’re probably dehydrated by the time you feel thirsty, just take a swig every 5 minutes or so when engaged in active pursuits.

Todd Dean.

George Doherty. Add one knee brace to some magic gel, stir in a little Priddis GC … and you may just be able to golf like George.

Don Doolan. One game is never enough. Don enjoyed three games of Blue Jays baseball in Seattle.

Gord Forsyth . Is still awed by Mel Gibson’s hole in one.

Mel Gibson. (When you can beat the odds of 12,000 to one, you get to sleep in and skip Birds.)

Henry Heuver. Newly planted trees need more than TLC. They need lots and lots of water.

David Hicks. A pipe off the old bag? Dave’s proud of his daughter who’s piped at the Highland Games.

Dan Kennelly. He’s golfing at Redwood Meadows to raise funds for Kids’ Cancer.

Matt Litke. This barbecue purist only burns Dragon’s Breath charcoal chunks in his classic Weber kettle.

Andy Lockhart. Rogers Mobility drove Andy to … telus.

J.D. MacDonald. Summer’s plumbing slowdown is giving way to fall activity.

Michael McLennan.  Europe (Portugal) beckons and Michael is unable to resist.

Ross Mikkelsen. BBQ on the Bow was Ross’ destination this weekend.

Mike Mikkelson. His truck was hammered by hail to the tune of $5G. DENT CLINIC made all the little pits … go away very nicely. * If you’re looking for good service for your furnace, call Arby’s at 403-236-2444.

Brad Pachal. Thanks to Andy …

Gerry Parcells.

Dwayne Vinck. Highway 22 paving is finally finished so it’s a great riding road for bikers (motor and/or leg power). Dwayne took a ride to Fernie.

Bob Wiggins . Not liking Impact’s insurance rates. Likes Aviva at RBC better. 25% better.
