Egg-cetera!

Our Year-end breakfast is on December 15th. Details to come. In the meantime, if you see a good $20 item for Birds’ gift exchange, you might want to pick it up, now.

Today’s Special Guest: Gord’s bro-in-law, Brad Callum (sp?), was at Birds. He has left Heinz Foods and is now working with Harvest Recycling and also has Canadian distribution rights for James White Beet Juice — soon to be on the shelves at Calgary Coop and Safeway.

Garage Door Issues? Call All Kinds Door Services. (As per JD’s suggestion.)

Members:

Brett Bain.

Sean Baylis.

Jim Bladon.

Paul Boucher.

Greg Callander.

Ian Campbell. Ah, the joys of being your own HR person. Ian had to invite an employee to leave. Not fun. It has since been suggested to Ian that he not engage menopausal cougars. A terrible term, he said, and certainly not PC. But used with wit and panache, it can elicit a laugh.

Matt Dart. With next Thursday being US Thanksgiving, you can expect Black Friday to follow right after it.

Don Davis. Don is taking a break from job hunting. He and Pat are off to Victoria for a couple of weeks.

Todd Dean.

George Doherty.

Don Doolan. Phisher, using Fedex as lure, is trying to infect Yvonne’s computer. Watch out for official looking Fedex emails that promise deliveries, warns Don.

Ken Eades.

Tony Fisher. City taxes are hitting businesses hard and are likely to soon hit harder. Calgary operating costs look bad in comparison to those in CrossIron Mills.

Gord Forsyth . His Rotary Club is featuring Todd Hirsch at luncheon on January 12th. Tickets are $40 each. This will be a popular event so if interested, call Gord now. (Or maybe, see if Ross still has room at his table.)

Mel Gibson.

Henry Heuver.

David Hicks.  You’ve heard of the “Slow Food’’ movement, yes? Well now, there’s the “Slow Business Movement”. It is characterized by P.O.’s taking months to be issued (versus what used to be a day or two). • Dave and his kids were touched by the Nov 11th ceremony at the Horton Legion

Bill Hoogstratten.

Dan Kennelly.  He reminds us to empty our Delete files on our computers. If you’ve thrown spam or phishing emails in there, they could awaken and infect your computer. • Dan is seeing signs of the Slow Business Movement in Ft. St. John and peace River area.

Keith Kozak.

Matt Litke. His Movember moustache has raised $400 to date. He’s on track to raise $1000. Birds can expect an email invite to support Movember soon.

Andy Lockhart.   He and Sue are due for eye, hip and knee surgery over the next period. (Pretty short-sighted and lame excuses for his upcoming absences, if you ask me.)

J.D. MacDonald. Another grandson makes JD a six-times grandfather! • JD is now offering a reliable,  automatic water shut-off valve. It can detect leaks and even save you some$$ on your home insurance.

Michael McLennan.

Ross Mikkelsen. Ross is watching the VISA/Walmart dispute with interest. Hopefully, it leads to lower merchant fees. • Nenshi’s City business tax plans for outlying areas are excessive. Period.

Mike Mikkelson.  Mike recounted some US healthcare and health coverage costs. We are so lucky to be Canadian. (Even with another Trudeau at the helm.)

Gerry Parcells.

Bruce Roblin.

Dwayne Vink. Dwayne is proceeding with screening process to see if he can donate a kidney to a friend of his. • Kid’s Help Phone is busy – but 5 times more girls are calling than boys. Movember Movement has made major contribution to Kid’s Help Phone for GrowTalk: designed to increase adolescent male participation.

Bob Wiggins. Bob may be away but we’re still in search of a few new members. Please keep an eye out for a candidate.

Chris Wright.  The Feds now want us to report sale of our principal residence. This should help deter house flippers …

George Roberts.  Words work when written well.
