Early Birds, July 22, 2021

Gentlemen,

Two important updates are right off the top of the video this week. One is an update on George Doherty via Tony Fisher, and the second is an update on Inglewood.

It looks like the Birds will get to go home again soon! Inglewood proposed an updated arrangement to Birds Treasurer Dwayne Vinck, which he relayed to the Birds, and there was unanimous support among the members present to "go back." Details are in the video update.

Dwayne is waiting to hear back on specific dates. We might be back at Inglewood on fairly short notice, so keep an eye on your inbox.

From the "you can't make this ***t up" file comes news via Tom Olson of "Helibacon."

The opening pitch on the web site is "WAIT… SO YOU’RE TELLING US YOU’VE NEVER SHOT MACHINE GUNS FROM A HELICOPTER?!"

Like I said, I couldn't make this up. You can shake your head in front of your own screen using this link: https://www.helibacon.com.

Wilful Blindness by Sam Cooper

Via Andy Lockhart, a second recommendation for a terrific, but horrifying book called Wilful Blindness by Sam Cooper.

The gist of it captured in this micro-review:

""In Wilful Blindness, Sam Cooper has shown what security officials have been hesitant to share with Canadians until recently; that Canada is a haven for nefarious national security and transnational organized crime networks and our democracy is at risk".

Calvin Chrustie - The Critical Risk Team - Risk and Security Consultant Senior Ops Officer for Transnational Organized Crime, RCMP (retired)

I couldn't find it locally, but it is available via Chapters-Indigo in stores and online by clicking HERE.

And now, this week's meeting.
