Your scribe was late so I probably missed the songs warbled by a couple of Birds.
A good read: Woman in the Window by (?) Flynn. George Doherty read it in Mexico and gave it six margaritas (or was it seven cervezas?). It was that good a book.
Another: George Roberts suggests The Good Daughter by Karin Slaughter. He rated it one pineapple, two palm trees and a topless sunbather (shocked into suddenly sitting up by a spilled cold drink).
Members:
Brett Bain. Phoenix bound. (Glenn Campbell sings Brett’s song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mUg5p3BncuQ )
Sean Baylis. Smiling Sean seldom says much to denigrate anyone – but he is not happy with the Libs and their silly budget. Not good for investors. Not good for business. And frankly, a kick in the butt for veterans.
Jim Bladon.
Paul Boucher. Just a reminder: show a little gratitude when it’s due. We all appreciate things but we also, all too often, forget to say thanks for a job well done.
Ian Campbell.
Matt Dart. Matt is becoming quite talkative, of late. (I know because I take notes and today, I need a page for Matt.) He sees some promising projects happening. He’s a fan of e-cars. He’s bought a new home. Is finding the market slow for the home he wants to sell. Is thinking of airbnb (any experience with them?). Also will try to rent to Spruce Meadows attendees. Any other ideas would be much appreciated by Matt.
Don Davis.
Todd Dean.
George Doherty. Likes the Dream Vacations package people. Told us Mexican fish stories about skip jack and yellowfin tuna and such. • He also partied with a drug lord who makes amazing pizza. (Topped with white powder?)
Don Doolan. An On-demand hot water heater is not a DIY project. Phone JD.
Tony Fisher.
Gord Forsyth . Need a new door? Creative Doors. New Printer? Phone Michael McLennan.
Mel Gibson. Fort Mac replacement housing (from fire) is going slowly. Is concerned about the BC tax on vacant homes.
Henry Heuver.
David Hicks. Dream vacations in Mexico on his mind.
Dan Kennelly. Is watching Canada’s pipeline delivery system (once a marvel of the world) wither and die from lack of smart government, silly indigenous claims and such.
Matt Litke. He praised a speaker but our scribe (moi) was distracted and missed the details. Sorry.
Andy Lockhart. Best phrase of the morning, vis-s-vis Mr Dress Up (aka Justin Trudeau): Oh for Goodness Sikh! • The DI Centre is continuing to have endless fruitless discussions with city hall. How petty Nenshi can be!
J.D. MacDonald. Thank goodness for idiots and may they always have water and water pipes to play with. Good work for JD and crew.
Michael McLennan. Got the newest shingles shot. Suffered for 24 hours but is glad he had it. The new vaccine is 95% effective. And it doesn’t need a booster. Yet.
Ross Mikkelsen. How do you spell Etobicoke? Ross’ new store is driving him to drink. Well, not the store but the suppliers, red tape and such. Ah well, he can always go to the Uzbek restaurant and order Tok-osh, Chuchvara, Funchosa, Marjimak and Achichuk. That’s the Uzbek restaurant … here in Calgary: The Begim at 4413 – 17 Avenue SE.
Mike Mikkelson . Visited with the Street Characters company, here in Calgary. They create mascots for companies all around the globe. Their main competitor: Disney. Cool.
Brad Pachal.
Gerry Parcells.
Dwayne Vink.
Bob Wiggins . Reports that Roger (our good man at Inglewood) is recovering. • Bob is concerned about how this city is handling (or mishandling) the secondary suites issue.
