Are we sure Ian had nothing to do with our meeting (this am) in the main hall? The acoustics are terrible – making it hard to hear each other. or is it just me? (Uh, oh.)

Brett Bain. Scot’s are tight about giving out small praise. They give nothing awa’. (Not even “y’s”.) It’s why they have trouble wearing trousers; a waste of material and thread when you can just wrap a towel around your middle parts. However, Brett sure had some nice ‘geeky’ things to say about Paul.

Paul Boucher.  He’s been voicing scripts for companies who keep revising their ‘weed’ policies regarding how much employees can have in their system. Mentioned that booze test is ‘pee in a pot’ and cannabis is ‘spit in a cup’. • One client is developing a ‘crane operator’s training system’ using VR (virtual reality). Seems they don’t like new operators tying up their cranes at $300,000 a day. • New Brunswick government has Paul voicing some “Before you Like or Share something on social media, check your facts.”

Tony Fisher. Was wondering why Sean didn’t forewarn us of Apple’s jump from $140 to $200 a share. (Just kidding Sean!). • He sees WestJet’s recent quarterly loss partly caused by CIA airport fees. They’re high. There are also lots of vacant retail spaces at CIA … sounds like Garth is already being missed.

Henry Heuver. Hail, hail, the crops are all … laying down. Heavy hail has played havoc with local crops and Henry’s trees are sporting ‘holy’ leaves. • Henry had a nice chat with Roget Jarvis.

Matt Litke. RBC Canada and RBC US are working together to make cross-border banking easy and inexpensive.

Andy Lockhart. His mom had a fall and rather than put her through ‘the ambulance to the hospital etc. etc. routine’, he called a firm with a portable Xray machine. They were there within an hour or so. Results were quick and since no bones were broken, mom never had to go to the hospital. • He has now scheduled a Physio — who makes house calls — to help mom get back onto hr feet.

Ross Mikkelsen. The BBQ season must be humming along nicely: Ross has been grooving to the music on Prince’s Island (a la the Folk Fest) and tallying up the score between the coyotes and the deer at Nose Hill Park.

Brad Pachal. It’s the little things that get you. Like Sherwin Williams spray-on lacquer versus the ‘good stuff’. Due diligence is not, he says, just for LLBs.

Dwayne Vinck . Has a client group of condo owners who’ve pooled their properties and had a third party firm doing their management duties. But that firm is letting them down. They’re looking for a better group. Know anyone?  • If you want to wind Duane up, ask him about protectionism, incubation periods and supply management. When it comes to economics, he can outtalk Samuelson.

Bob Wiggins . Insurance woes. Intact is hell-bent on keeping their profit margin intact. At Bob’s expense. They think. (We’ll see.)
